We were commissioned for full architecture layout design, complete interior design, and landscape design. The mandate: craft a residence that captures Ibiza's vibe while remaining timeless and highly livable. We organized the plan around view corridors and cross ventilation paths, specified a palette of lime washed plaster, local stone, and warm wood, and curated a drought-tolerant, Mediterranean landscape that frames the architecture and anchors it to site.
Designing for coastal climate and salt laden winds demanded durable assemblies, deep shading, and controlled solar gain without sacrificing views. Strict local guidelines and sensitivities around topography, night sky lighting, and sightlines required a restrained massing strategy with minimal visual impact. Achieving true indoor outdoor continuity privacy, acoustics, and thermal comfort—while maintaining a clean, modern language called for precise detailing at thresholds, glazing, and landscape edges.
We developed a low, layered massing with deep overhangs, pergolas, and recessed glazing to balance view, shade, and privacy. A passive-first approach orientation, thermal mass, cross-breezes—was paired with high performance window systems and concealed services for year round comfort. The interiors extend the architecture: continuous stone floors, micro cement wet areas, bespoke timber joinery, and a subdued lighting scheme; outside, native planting, permeable surfaces, and greywater ready irrigation deliver a resilient, low-maintenance landscape that completes the Ibiza lifestyle.
